The Comebuycars.co.uk website has been helping people for over two years to sell their cars online and in that time has seen many slight changes. The time has now come for the new site to be launched with many new sections and features to help customers through the buying and selling process. We now have both buying and selling tips, useful websites for insurance and finance quotes. Car export Scam alert.

It has come to our attention that there is a large scam currently sweeping the internet.

You get contacted via email by a traveling businessman who is interested in buying your car. After asking for a photo and a full description they decide to buy only to inform you that the car is to go abroad and some shipping needs taking care of. A cheque is proposed which also includes the cost of shipping....reports show that this is around an extra 3k. The buyer requests that you send a cheque to the shipping company for the balance once you've received the full cheque; problem is that these cheques are either counterfeit or stolen...bounce leaving you out of pocket for the shipping. It’s a clever little scam but we are determined to protect you. All the major sites have produced a similar news letter and we ask you to be vigilant. We have also taken the responsible steps of excluding your email address from all adverts which should stop the problem at grass roots. Remember a real buyer will want to see and test drive the car. Payment is usually by cash or building society cheque. Remember it takes several days for a cheque to clear so be very wary.
